PREMIERE: Lillian Leadbetter Takes Listeners On A Lover’s Journey With Upcoming Single ‘American Sweetheart’

Americana singer-songwriter Lillian Leadbetter continues to build hype for her debut album with the upcoming release of her new single, “American Sweetheart,” slated for an official release of June 27th.

Born and raised in rural Vermont, Leadbetter is a singer, songwriter, poet and multimedia artist. Her vision will be translated in full color on the debut record that she co-produced with Eli Gold, State of Romance, set to release in October 2023, which she recorded at Burlington’s Future Fields Studio. 

Leadbetter released her first single, “Sophia,” on April 4th, which set the tone for the rest of the album, further cemented by the melodies of “American Sweetheart.” Her choral and folk roots are ubiquitous in her work, creating a unique blend of melodic and stylistic structure. 

The earliest musical influences for the artist rose from the melodies of songbirds, low hum in the trees and nights singing to her father’s guitar. Performing and composing original music with a romantic outlook and evocative melodies for the past decade, she draws her influences ranging from Anaïs Mitchell and John Prine to Lana Del Ray and Rachael Price.
