Ron Pope Drops Sentimental New Single ‘The Good Old Days’ With Music Video To Come

Finding peace in the chaos of the pandemic, singer-songwriter Ron Pope turned to his fatherhood for musical inspiration- and the result is his heartwarming single, “The Good Old Days”.

Greeting the streaming world on January 12th, the single will be featured on his upcoming EP, It’s Gonna Be a Long Night, set to be released in the spring of 2022. Pope is currently on the road supporting the single and his new batch of songs, as he kicked off his U.S acoustic tour in Washington, DC, on January 15th.

“The Good Old Days,” is a song about fatherhood, marriage, and soaking in the small, meaningful moments of life. Having stayed at home during the pandemic with his three-year-old and finding solace in the quietness of life, the new music acutely reflects a more peaceful, grounded side to Pope.

“The good old days are happening right now”, sings Pope in a soft voice, accompanied on background vocals by The Mayries (Matilda Ekevik and Sofi Lindblom). When asked about the inspiration behind the song, Pope says, “In the day to day effort to raise a child into a functioning human being, it’s easy to get lost in the endless string of necessary tasks and lessons and forget to enjoy the beauty of the whole thing.”
