Ontario native and Nashville resident Tebey has released his latest single, “Sink With The Sun,” along with an accompanying video fit for the heat of mid-July.
Released July 15th, the catchy tune showcases the country-pop artist’s resonating vocals and sticky songwriting ability as he tells a story of lost love, and unending attempts to escape the memories of a past relationship.
Shot in Tulum, Mexico, the video’s subject travels away from home in search of healing amid heartbreak. Working together, the lyrics and video paint a beautiful and scenic picture as Tebey sings, “I guess there’s no better place than paradise to get over someone.”
“When my co-writers and I were finally able to marry the right melody with the existing lyric we had written, we were surprised with how effortlessly it flowed,” Tebey said on the inception of the song. Starting at a relaxing, mellow tempo, Tebey blends light vocal harmonies with an articulated acoustic guitar and calming backbeat “draw[ing] the listener in from the very first note.”
The past few years have yielded the most success for Tebey, amassing over 75 million streams and multiple #1 songs as a writer. He recently performed at the 2022 CMA Fest in Nashville this past June, and the award-winning songwriter and producer has tour dates spanning from this month to September, performing throughout Canada and the UK.
“Sink With The Sun” is the platinum-selling artist’s third single of the year, following “What Was I Drinking” and a subsequent acoustic version. While his latest release captures the sentiments of summer, he hopes to further captivate audiences with his upcoming project titled TULUM, set to release later this year.
