New Female-Driven Music Collective Gritty In Pink To Host Virtual Nashville Event

Empowering women through music, partnership, performance, and networking opportunities, Gritty in Pink is generating a legacy by providing a safe space for female artists in a male-dominated industry.

Featuring multiple women in eight cities across the country in their virtual tour, Nashville is next up, and will air tomorrow, August 17th at 6pm PT/8pm CT live from their Instagram

Intended to be an extension of founder Shira Yevin’s Los Angeles-based “Gritty In Pink” club nights, plans soon changed within the year. These events were meant for new women in the music industry along with more popular and established names in LA. However, with the pandemic taking a toll on live music, Yevin decided to make their event virtual in cities such as, Atlanta, Chicago, Austin, Denver, Phoenix, and now ending in Los Angeles.

When asked about the impact their business had from the pandemic, she said, “We thought this was a cool way to bring the country together… One good thing that came out of it was that we could work with musicians from all over, and it took on a life of its own.” Gritty Rocks Live showcases an extensive assortment of female artists from all kinds of diverse genres playing mostly acoustic sets, which expanded their platform even further.

Yevin has been breaking down barriers for women throughout most of her career. Creating the Vans Warped Tour Shiragirl Stage, she featured renowned artists including Joan Jett and Paramore along with over 300 female musicians. Now, she is even more passionate about bringing community to women in entertainment and giving them a stage for their voices to shine.

Their upcoming Nashville livestream will feature alternative pop singer Tarot, PI3RCE, soul artist Josey, soul-rock artist Natalie Brady, pop singer Savanna Leigh, and Nashville community advocate Shawney Rainne. To have the opportunity to participate in the show, viewers can donate to the live fundraiser, Sweet Relief Musicians Fund. The fund was incorporated as a nonprofit, which offers aid for professional musicians in need. Funds help provide everything from concert venues, to radio stations, to music retailers.

You can check out their website for more information, and be sure to tune in tomorrow night, as this is one live music opportunity for a great cause you won’t want to miss.
