Bronwyn Keith-Hynes is done playing second fiddle.
Forging her own path as simply Bronwyn, the high profile Nashville fiddler has released her latest single, “Gallatin Road,” off of her upcoming album, Rattlin’ Bones, which is slated to hit airwaves August 14th, 2026. She boasts her technical prowess through fiddle, vocals, and now songwriting to pay homage to the rollicking Nashville road in the new track.
Lilting and lively, “Gallatin Road” paints an endearing and unruly portrait of the Music City strip. In remaining rag-tag in both actuality and in song, Bronwyn enlists the help of musician Timbo for help in adding a classic, grizzled edge to the track. You can witness a combination of airy playfulness and deep love for the titular road come to life here.
“I got the idea for this song after a conversation with some friends who were visiting, and they were remarking on how weird the road was, and I think one of us said ‘anything goes out on Gallatin Road,’ and I thought that sounded like a good hook,” Bronwyn states. “I wrote this song with my friend Pat McLaughlin, who I ended up writing about half the songs on this record with, and it was one of the easiest songs we’ve ever written, we just had a lot of fun with it.”
Bronwyn’s two previous solo albums, Fiddler’s Pastime and I Built A World, create a foundation for Rattlin’ Bones to be the musician’s most well-rounded project to date, having firmly established her strengths as a fiddler, vocalist, and songwriter respectively. Enlisting the help of Nashville-based musicians such as dobroist Jerry Douglas, mandolinist Harry Clark, and banjoist Wes Corbet, she hopes to produce a record “you’d want to turn up so loud, it’d rattle your bones.”
Bronwyn’s talents have earned her a number of awards, namely two IBMA Fiddle Player of the Year awards and a Grammy for her work on the Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway album, City Of Gold.
Despite her former group Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway disbanding last year, Bronwyn independently remains a powerhouse within Americana and bluegrass music scenes, with her talents sprinkled within many other performances and recordings.
In support of the upcoming album, Bronwyn is in the thick of a summer tour, with a date at the Grand Ole Opry August 19th.
