PREMIERE: Neo-Soul Songstress Nicollette Hearkens To A Golden Age Of Music In New Single ‘Love Don’t Live Here Anymore’

In an ever-evolving industry that praises the new and improved, Nicollette Sullivan is indeed a diamond in the rough.

As a young person, Nicollette developed and sustained a rare love of classic music and film. Her bluesy soul yet distinctly pop sound is steeped in tradition and a lifetime of musical inspiration passed down from her family.

The latest installment of the burgeoning songstress’s musical career dropped today, and it remains true to her old soul and love of jazz. Her new single, “Love Don’t Live Here Anymore,” is a nostalgic return to the golden age of music, bursting with palpable soul and silky instrumentals reminiscent of a bygone era.

A heartfelt blues n’ soul ballad about nursing a broken heart, this new single is for those who’ve felt the sting of love lost, reminiscing about what once was. Nicollette’s honeyed vocals instill goosebumps, and leave listeners starry-eyed.

With two parents who were active in the music scene growing up, Nicollette owes much of her passion to her mom and dad; both of whom are singers.

From her mom come the soul, R&B, classical, and funk music, and from her dad came the rock and metal influences. Much of her sparkle comes from the likes of the greats, namely Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald. Watching black and white films and period pieces with her mom and grandmother was a common pastime for Nicollette, a hobby that has since fueled her artistic prowess.

She began by singing choir in school and participating in musicals, which blossomed into singing professionally after high school. On the wings of this pursuit came production on her first album, which is slated for release August 16th, 2024. Earlier this year, the young artist released her first two singles, “Strychnine” and “Broken.”

Nicollette offers a traditional yet contemporary spin on the soul, blues, and jazz genres, helping carry the torch for music that’s fewer and far between in modern music these days, and it’s safe to say the sky’s the limit for this rising songstress.
