Zac Young knows how to perform live and convey a song to an audience, using unconventional song structures and visually stimulating lyricism. His last EP, Play It Loud So The Stars Can Hear, combines elements of both pop and rock to create hooky melodies, and tell stories through lyrics and instrumentation that showcase themes of finding oneself, loving others, and persevering against all odds.
Having played in the rock/hip hop band Stereomonster for most of his 20s, Young decided in 2020 to pursue a solo career in Nashville with the release of his first album as a solo artist, Nocturne for the Nocturnal. As is the case with much of his music, Young found that he’s drawn to using celestial and cosmic elements as an outlet to inspire his songs to communicate his feelings through his art. From his poetry to full length albums and EPs, he’s gravitated towards using the way the galaxy comes alive at night as a source for inspiration.
On August 29th, 2024, Young will take his unique music to the stage, as he is set to headline Anzie Blue in Nashville, a popular music venue in the heart of Hillsboro Village. Not only is it Nashville’s only female owned music venue, it’s also responsible for having hosted over 175 events in the past year, with power duo Marcie Allen Van Mol and Derek Van Mol intent on making it an inclusive space and social hub for artists and creatives alike.

“Regarding playing Nashville, I try to limit my performances and find unique venues to play as there’s always so much going on in this city,” Young stated. “Anzie Blue is not only a unique venue (intimate & swanky), it’s a vibrant & inclusive room for the entire Nashville community. Their purpose is uniting Nashville and the arts. We are thrilled to play at such a progressive venue and to be able to share the stage with Jess Antonette. Jess is an unbelievably talented, charismatic gem. There will be a few special guests, too.”
Antonette is a local pop-country songwriter who has graced stages with the likes of Jordan Davis, Tucker Beathard, and The Eli Young Band in her time performing. With accomplishments under belt like being a finalist in the prestigious John Lennon Songwriting Competition and having a single, “Fix It,” gain recognition through the CMT awards, she is definitely a talent to watch both in the country pop scene, and on stage at the Anzie Blue.
Aside from his upcoming performance at Anzie Blue, he’ll be following that up with a show at Smith’s Olde Bar August 30th in Atlanta, and The Loft in Columbus, Georgia, August 31st. Young is also in the process of recording a new album. This nocturnal cosmic-inspired pop-rocker is always ready for the stage and stereo, and we’ll have this one circled on our calendars.
