On April 12th, two local and independent-focused companies, Pressed PR and Asphalt Music Group, announced their new partnership, which is kicking off with Tim Buono’s new single “Polaroid.”
In a press release following the announcement, Pressed PR explained of their decision to work together: “The two companies closely align in their mission to support independent talent in the music industry and are collaborating in their efforts to bring several emerging artists to the forefront of the music scene.”
Asphalt Music Group is the newer of the two companies, having been founded in January of 2020 by producer and industry executive Aaron Chesling.
Chesling is a well-established country music record producer and industry executive with previous work as a distribution specialist at Universal Music Group. He’s assisted in marketing campaigns for logistics and radio promotions on behalf of Big Machine Label Group, having worked closely with the roster, (Florida Georgia Line, Maddie & Tae, Thomas Rhett, Steven Tyler, and Taylor Swift) and contributing to several #1 hits. Recently, he’s served as the lead A&R for the late and iconic Joe Diffie. He’s written and produced hundreds of songs for independent, international talent as well songwriting credits to top 200 songs on the Billboard charts.
Chesling said of having a go-to outlet for his artists, “We are very excited to be teaming up with an aggressive PR team like Pressed PR, one of the many moving parts we are glad to have in order to grow.”
Pressed PR was launched in 2017 by founder, CEO, and musician Dawn Jones. They “find their niche” amongst the independent creatives ranging from artists to small businesses, and are known to have a keen eye for emerging talent. This collaboration hasn’t been the agency’s first step towards expansion, however. In February of 2020, they added a film PR division to their company “with the intention to serve independent filmmakers in the basic promotional and publicity strategies needed to successfully launch their film.”
Jones shares Chesling’s mutual respect and enthusiasm for working together, saying, “We could not be happier to partner with a team of like-minded creatives who sincerely want to see independent artists succeed in the music industry.”
This new alliance is a strong and enticing match, as they fill in the gaps of each others’ offerings. Together, they are a one-stop-shop for new artists getting off the ground or seasoned ones looking to keep all of their business in one place.
The first to represent this union is country artist Tim Buono, who on April 9th dropped his new single, “Polaroid.” His release is only the beginning of many more to come from this new affiliation, which is sure to grow and endure sustained success.
