Jimmy Nash Offers Tender & Simple Ode To The One He Loves On Heartwarming New Single ‘You Got Me’

You’ve got to be pretty lucky to have a name like Jimmy Nash, be a Nashville native, and be an active singer-songwriter. You’ve got a good jumpstart to catch eyes and ears with that alone.

Born the son of two established Music City songwriters, Nash followed in his parents’ footsteps, authoring his own narrative when it came to creating music. While getting his toes wet releasing some singles in the early 2010’s, the songwriter released his first full-length album, The Road to 33, in 2012, which was a genre melting pot, mixing country, rock, and pop, among other elements.

After some time off from releasing music, Nash would release a smattering of singles the past several years, with his brand new single, “You Got Me,” officially hitting streaming services February 9th.

With pristine acoustic guitar picking and a James Taylor-like vocal delivery that hits like a soft beach breeze, Nash serenades the listener with his love of the song’s subject. It’s a classic no-frills love song that is as easy on the ears as it gets, and is perfect for the Valentine’s Day season.

Produced by Grammy award-winning producer Todd Hannigan (Jack Johnson), the single is the kind of song you can stargaze and daydream to; an ode to love we all ultimately want.

With a stingingly sweet acoustic guitar line, “You Got Me,” sets a scene of infatuation. “I got you on my heart / As close as you can be / You gotta know by now / Baby you got me,” he croons. He sings the classic tale of loving someone so strongly that there’s no second guessing they’re the person you want to spend the rest of your life with. “It’s the strongest hold I’ve ever seen,” Nash sings out.

With subtle pedal steel and organ that hint at a hushed complexity, the song stays consistent with the acoustic guitar line and endearing lyrics, never trying too hard.

The guitar picker’s life of music has led him to work with the sister duo, American Blonde, and has landed his musical works in television, most recently in Teen Mom 2 with the song “We Are Made of Stars.”

Nash’s sweet and smooth Americana-leaning sound is promising a new wave in his artistic pursuit, and time will tell what’s next for the talented songwriter.
