EG Vines Skewers Shady Politicians & Other Egomaniacs Ruining Society On Gritty New Single ‘I Like ‘Em Braindead’

Nashville-based indie alt-rock stalwart EG Vines is holding absolutely nothing back.

Last Friday, May 22nd, the songwriter released “I Like ‘em Braindead,” the fourth and final single ahead of his highly anticipated new album, Kaleidoscope Dream, dropping June 12th, 2026.

Premiering via Magnet Magazine, “I Like ‘em Braindead” explodes with raw, ‘90s-infused alt-rock energy akin to that of a vintage Stone Temple Pilots. Driven by heavy distorted guitar riffs and unbridled emotion within Vines’ signature gritty vocal delivery, the track stands out as something no one should — or can — ignore.

The song features notable, hard-hitting drum work courtesy of the late Tim Very (Manchester Orchestra), who performed on the majority of Vines’ upcoming record.

While much of Kaleidoscope Dream explores introspective themes of life and relationships, Vines couldn’t resist a classic punk-rock rebellion. “In true EG Vines fashion, there had to be one punk rock song railing against the powers that be,” Vines says of the track. “This one is about politicians, egomaniac church leaders, and anyone else actively working to dumb down the populace.”

Produced by Dan Hannon near Muscle Shoals Alabama, Kaleidoscope Dream serves as an emotional and spiritual anchor for Vines. The result is an authentic, boundary-pushing record that represents shifting perspectives and personal transformation.

Since famously quitting the corporate “rat race” in his mid-30s to pursue music full-time, the Arkansas-born artist has consistently built momentum across acclaimed releases, from his debut album Family Business, to 2023’s Dance Moves.

Fans can experience the new material live at the official album release show, presented by Lightning 100 at 3rd and Lindsley on June 14th, 2026.
