From a Broadway buskin’ adolescent, to headlining the hallowed stage of the Ryman Auditorium, Daniel Donato has come full circle.
The Telecaster prodigy and his Cosmic Country band are on the cusp of releasing their new album, Horizons, this Friday August 22nd, 2025, and the gang gets to celebrate that sonic journey betwixt sacred Nashville walls.
You just can’t top it.
Horizons explores the gamut of American music with their signature brand of cosmic country and jam band-like flair. You can get a taste of it with their honky-tonk inspired single, “Broadside Ballad” and latest Gram Parsons-esque single, “Better Deal Blues.”
Horizons is the second LP from Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Country containing all original material. The whopping 15-track collection is the follow up to 2023’s Reflector.
The album showcases the continual evolution of a band well on the rise, with new material that’s been performed live numerous times before entering the studio, which allowed the band to gain a greater vision of what each song could be when recording. Vance Powell (White Stripes, Arctic Monkeys, Chris Stapleton, Trey Anastasio) returned to co-produce the album following his production work on Reflector.
“I wanted the lyrics to be easy to understand, not abstract,” Donato states. “There are many layers to the meanings and you think about it, but it’s not rocket science to understand them. Trying to maintain a human sound and faith in what humans can do really inform the actual sonics and production of the record, too.”
And in a few short days, Donato and co. get the privilege to share their ascending musical prowess with a packed crowd at the Mother Church. It’s clearly a special album release show in their hometown of Music City, USA, and yet is a mere pitstop amidst a heavy summer and fall tour.
Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Country features Donato (guitars/lead vocal), Nathan “Sugar Legg” Aronowitz (keyboards/vocals), Will “Mustang” McGee (bass/vocals), and William “Bronco” Clark (drums & percussion).
