Birthplace Of Country Music To Host Qualifying Round For Tennessee Songwriters Week Competition

The Birthplace of Country Music is excited to partner with the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development to be a venue for qualifying rounds leading up to the annual Tennessee Songwriters Week.

The Birthplace of Country Music Museum, located in Historic Downtown Bristol, Virginia-Tennessee, along with other venues across the state of Tennessee, will sign up local talent to compete. Top songwriters from the official qualifying rounds will perform during one of the six Tennessee Songwriters Week showcases. Finalists from the showcases get a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to share their original songs on the historic stage at The Bluebird Cafe in Nashville.

If you wish to enter the Qualifying Round at the Birthplace of Country Music Museum on February 5, 2022, read the official rules to make sure you qualify. Entrants are not allowed to enter more than one qualifying round. Deadline for entry is January 11, 2022.

  • Up to 20 singer-songwriters may register for the February 5th competition at the Birthplace of Country Music Museum, taken in the order they are received. 
  • Each artist will perform one original song for up to 5 minutes.
  • The artist must own the rights to the song.
  • To enter, artist must provide full contact information, upload lyrics and provide a YouTube link to a video of the artist performing the song before the January 11, 2022 deadline.

If more than 20 artists apply, they will be placed on a waiting list.

Winners of qualifying rounds will advance to the showcase events in Memphis, Franklin, Knoxville, Chattanooga, Gatlinburg, and Johnson City February 20-26, 2022. Showcase winners will get their chance to take the stage at The Bluebird Cafe on March 20, 2022.
