Anticipation At A Fever Pitch On The Eve Of Mempho Music Festival

The time is nigh for rock ‘n’ roll.

But not just your average rock ‘n’ roll experience, no. The Mempho Music Festival takes place in the astounding Radians Amphitheater at Memphis Botanic Gardens this weekend, and will feature modern legends like My Morning Jacket, Ween, The Black Crowes, Turnpike Troubadours, Lake Street Dive, Dinosaur Jr. and many more.

Lauded by Billboard as “one of the premiere Southeast music festivals for Americana, rock and blues music,” Mempho Music Festival will see its six-year anniversary in Grind City. In that span, Mempho Fest has garnered a reputation for its thoughtfully-curated music lineups, comfortable atmosphere, and distinctly-Memphis culture, attracting upwards of 30,000 patrons annually to one of the most iconic music cities on earth. (not to mention its iconic BBQ)

New for 2023, Mempho Fest announced the addition of the Overton Park Shell On Wheels Stage, presenting emerging acts like Aquarian Blood and The Runaway Grooms, as well as a sacred soul revue curated by Memphis-based record label Bible & Tire Recording Co. and featuring Dedicated Men of Zion and Faith & Harmony.

Festival goers can also look forward to the return of silent disco in the Incendia Dome. Additional performances will be taking place on the Adams Keegan main stage and the ZYN stage all weekend long.

Mempho Fest has once again teamed up with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital as its charitable parter and beneficiary. Mempho Fest attendees can support the organization through this year’s on-site auction, which includes a one-of-a-kind photo exhibition featuring some of the most memorable Mempho moments since its inaugural event in 2017.

So if you’re going, we’ll see you there. And if you’re not- mark it on your calendar for next year and live with mild regret.
