Vince Gill Pays Homage To Nashville Institution On New EP ’50 Years From Home: Brown’s Diner Bar’

90s country legend Vince Gill has begun 2026 on a high note, delighting lifelong fans with the release of his newest EP, Brown’s Diner Bar.

A seven-song collection and the third installment of his year-long project rollout, titled 50 Years From Home, the EP was preceded by two previous releases, I Gave You Everything I Had, and Secondhand Smoke.

For those unfamiliar, Gill experienced his big break in 1990 with his single “When I Call Your Name,” and has since gone on to win 18 CMA Awards, 22 Grammy Awards, and eight Academy of Country Music Awards, as well as presented the 2025 CMA Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award among other honors. He’s a modern legend of country music in every sense.

Gill writes about the frame of mind he’s gained through vast life experience, and shares a vulnerable point of view about how everything matters more as you grow older and time continues to pass. “You need some years under your belt to have the perspective to look back and really remember things. I know I don’t have as much time left as I’ve had to this point, so everything matters more,” he states.

The title track and opening song, “Brown’s Diner Bar,” transports listeners 50 years into the past when Gill originally visited the Nashville watering hole for the first time back in the 1970s, after hearing that it was known for its delicious burgers. The Hillsboro Village-area joint later became known as a go-to spot where local musicians and songwriters could be found indulging and mining inspiration. Thankfully, it is still in business and catering to folks far and wide today. Gill’s masterful songwriting and his cast of top tier musicians whisk listeners away in a way only they can.

Another notable song on this project is “Young Again.” This self-written track gives audiences a look into the struggles Gill has faced to remain relevant, whilst not wishing to re-live the past. It can be seen that the artist still has a passion for his work, but no desire to reminisce too heavily about the way he built himself up through the industry.

Overall, this EP is a collection of music that not only preserves the stories of the icon’s career, but provides a nostalgic look into his early work and experiences for future generations. It features a large collection of contributions from other talented writers such as Wade Bowen, ERNEST, Jake Worthington, and more, to create a group of songs that rings the truth of Gill’s life through honesty and deep lyricism.

Listeners can look forward to feeling at home as they dive into this nostalgic project. Gill is currently performing a residency with the Eagles at The Sphere in Las Vegas.
