Social Animals Explore Relationship Complexities & Superficialities On Pulsating New Single ‘Use Me Too’

“Well it’s a stick figure romance / It takes you a couple lines / To get the picture / I use my head but I don’t use my mind.”

Opening with an electrifying early aughts indie rock riff that bursts into a driving synth-laden percussion, the brand new single, “Use Me Too,” from Social Animals hits hard from the jump as lead singer Dedric Clark wastes no time with his emotive lyrics.

As the title might suggest, the catchy number explore themes of relationship complexities in a modern world, emotional turmoil, manipulation, and uncontrollable attraction, delivered with gritty and resonating alt-rock charm throughout.

“Use Me Too” is the third single release over the past few months from Social Animals, following “Way Off Here” and “Blacking Out,” and it’s coming just in time to be that perfect summer to autumn crossover anthem.

“Use Me Too”

Since releasing their self-titled album two years ago with Rise Records, the group has gotten the opportunity to tour with the likes of Dashboard Confessional, All American Rejects, Moon Taxi, and label mates Angels & Airwaves, as well as Ash on a European tour.

Labeling their sound as “dreamy Midwestern slacker rock,” the Social Animals’ audience is one that might also lean towards artists like Sam Fender, The War On Drugs, Future Islands, and Alex Cameron among others.

With their single “Adults” making Amazon Music’s Top 100 Alternative songs in 2021 at #10, and more recently their single “Blacking Out” making it on Spotify’s Fresh Finds Rock playlist in June, it’s evident that the band is making an impression, and one that probably won’t stay your favorite gatekeep-able alternative rock band for long.

As we course through the rest of 2024, the band plans to continue to swarm the stage, supporting Under The Rug and Say Anything in the fall.
