Get To Know: Saint Social Delivers Versatile Blend of Indie & Alt Pop-Rock Bangers On New Self-Titled Debut Album

Everyone has their comfort space, and sometimes that space can be embodied by music.

Indie pop-rock band Saint Social, based in the Gulf Coast, has tailored their new self-titled debut album — which dropped today August 28th, 2024 — to call listeners on a nine-track journey through the uplift on the other side of humanity’s discourse.

Rising with sharp synth notes, “From the Beginning to the End” puts a start to the triumphant undertones that drift through the album, despite its at times heavy themes. The belting ballad and the songs that follow sing like they’ve found themselves in the middle of a film’s peak, bursting with energy and emotion.

“Swagger”

Swagger,” which released as a single in March of this year, lives up to its name’s reputation with its stomping hints of twang and stopping vocal impacts. Housing some of the more overarchingly positive set of lyrics, “Swagger” and its telephone-style vocals welcome a grand chorus behind them, giving the song and its aim to impact its community a sense of unity.

Ending the album with a nod toward the fight for expressing one’s self in whole in a world of social cues and expectations, “Holiday Forever” makes synth, guitar, and lively drums dance a tune of ascendancy and comfortability within. Soundscapes shift and bend throughout, seemingly mimicking the ever-changing human experience while maintaining a cohesive, exciting ride.

As the band’s summer tour through the southern coastal states comes to a close, the album release show at Twisted Anchor Tattoo in Ocean Springs, Mississippi is next on the list for Saint Social. Tomorrow, August 29th, holds much in store for listeners, bringing not only an alluring, energized performance, but an open-call visual art show featuring colorful work that encompass the band’s vibe and energy.

“Holiday Forever”

A group sewn together by their individual inspirations from life and career experiences, the band is composed of longtime friends Quinn Erwin, Bryan Bourque, and Justin Gollott. When Erwin relocated from Nashville, Tennessee to Fort Walton Beach, Florida, having accomplished music placement with MTV, Netflix, and Super Bowl LIII film and television, Bourque and Gollott had been managing their professional careers while still maintaining local gig presence.

After a few years finding time between the lines of their lives to play together whenever they could, the members’ grand reunion kicked off Saint Social, a compilation of inspiration from Coldplay to U2, accompanied by the group’s Southern heritage.

Saint Social’s life-long passions of music are unwaveringly apparent in their work, but the shining factor lies in the band’s aim to embark themselves and their listeners alike on an escapade of authenticity, expression, and wholeness.
