Raised in the suburbs of San Francisco, Molly Tuttle always felt drawn toward rolling hills of rural farmland– known to Tuttle as her grandparents’ home in Illinois.
Tuttle was brought up on bluegrass through her father who was a musician himself. She began writing her own music at 15, and attended Berklee College of Music for American Roots Music. Her path was to stardom was established early on, and it didn’t take long for people to take notice.
Moving to Nashville in 2015, the Americana singer-songwriter opened doors to collaborate with bluegrass, folk, and roots giants, including Old Crow Medicine Show, Billy Strings, and Sierra Hull. She was the first female to receive Guitar Player of the Year from the International Bluegrass Music Association. She has also received awards from the Americana Music Honors and the International Folk Music Awards.
Tuttle tells stories through her music by creating an imagined world derived from her own personal life. Throughout her songs, motifs of old Western imagery can be discovered by the listener to paint a picture of an old American landscape. Her music is deeply rooted within her story; each song draws some inspiration from her family and its history. Her latest album, Crooked Tree, showcases her unique songwriting ability and other worldly instrumental talent.

Given her rise to being a household name within the music world, she is another who does extensive touring and festival appearances. Next up on the docket will be her performance at DelFest in Cumberland, MD, this coming weekend along with her band Golden Highway.
